5th Grazer Symposium Virtuelles Fahrzeug

Graz, April 17 - 18, 2012

Interdisciplinary Vehicle Development

Processes, Methods, Tools, Best Practices

Modern vehicles are complex products. Their development requires more and more a perfect interaction of the participating disciplines. Processes, methods and tools have to enable a complete view on the vehicle system.

The "Graz Symposium Virtual Vehicle (GSVF)" concentrates on relevant aspects and topics of virtual vehicle development. Focus is laid on a holistic system view rather than on single discipline perspective:

  • Virtual interdisciplinary functional validation
  • Phase suitable application of development methods
  • Information management within vehicle development
  • New business models for vehicle manufacturers and their influence on vehicle development
  • Best Practice in application

Keynote addresses by acknowledged experts from Audi, BMW, Daimler and AVL will challenge or highlight relevant approaches:

  • Thomas Kriegel, Head of Method Development and Product Data Management, AUDI AG:
    "The End of Virtual Development"
  • Kai Voigt, Head of Instrumentation and Test Systems, AVL:
"Integrated, Easy to Use - Systems Engineering Tool Chains for Powertrain Development"
  • Alfred Katzenbach, Information Technology Management Group Research and Development Mercedes-Benz Cars, Daimler AG:
"Two Worlds Grow Together - the Convergence of Virtual and Physical Product Development"
  • Christian-Michael Gruber, Head of Group Concepts for Active and Integrated Safety, BMW AG:
"A Consistent Method for Numerical Simulation in Integrated Safety"
